Oral Health Education Course starting November 2017
Thank you for your interest in the Dental Premier NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health Education.
Here is some information on the course and its requirements.
Start date: 7th November 2017 (Induction)
Session day / times: Tuesday 6.30pm to 9pm
Number of class sessions: 15 (every 3rd Tuesday. Weekly from 21st August 18)
Course fees: ££700 plus VAT (£900 including VAT)
£195 exam fee NEBDN
Can be paid by installments:
£300 deposit also £195 exam fee to be paid once enrolled.
Then from November £150/month for 5 months
All fees due: by 7th March 2018 (please note that all fees are non-refundable
Exam date: Friday 14th September 2018
Coursework and study requirements additional to class attendance
Preparing lesson plans and delivering 11 oral health education (OHE) sessions to patients
Writing up log sheets of OHE sessions (Record of Competence)
Research including online
Planning and producing a display / exhibition
2 telephone tutorials with the Tutor (coursework support and progress reviews)
Regular access to a computer and the internet
Self-managed and organised
Committed to attendance and able to be punctual
Meeting coursework deadlines
Good skills in English literacy and spoken English
A place will be offered based on:
Completing an initial interview and English skills assessment
Proof of up to date GDC registration, BLS training, professional indemnity, employer’s liability and advanced DBS check
Submission of CV and CPD record
Written agreement of Employer for you to give supervised oral hygiene education to 7 patients (4 of whom will require a follow up visit)
Having a named GDC registrant who will supervise your patient OHE sessions, sign off your log sheets (‘Record of Competence’) and provide written feedback
